A hands on job workshop on statistical science was held at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial Hospital, Raipur for doctors to facilitate research work with available data. The workshop was organized jointly by the scientific committee and medical education unit of the hospital. It was attended by HoDs and medical teachers of the medical college and hospital.
Research has an important role to play in the field of medical education, said Dr. Smit Shrivastava. For collection, arranging and analyzing data, use of various softwares become imperative. The workshop intends to familiarise the students and teachers of the medical fraternity to understand the various nuances of data handling and analysis, he added.
Key note speaker Pradeep Chourasia detailed the participants on the micro aspects of data handling and analysis. Swapnil Sinkar discussed the various softwares involved in the process. He elaborated on the use of MS Excel, SPS and PSP softwares and gave the participants hands on experience.
