Cardiologists at RKCH have added another milestone in the treatment of cardiac diseases in the region. A team of Cardiologists led by Cardiac Electrophysiologist Dr. Javed Parvez performed the First Atrial fibrillation ablation of the entire central India region. Speaking to the press Dr. Javed informed that atrial fibrillation is one of the most common rhythm disorders of the heart. In this disease, the heart beats very fast and irregularly causing shortness of breath or risk of paralysis to the patient. Previously, all such patients were treated with medicines as there was no permanent solution to this problem.

“Ablation procedure for AF is done under local anesthesia. Using the veins of the lower limbs catheters are placed in the heart and curative lesions are given within the heart, resulting in a cure for this arrhythmia in many patients and control in most of them” he added. The patient got discharged 24 hours later after the procedure and was able to perform all routine activities just 2 days after the procedure. Patients with disorders of heartbeats need not go out to metropolitan cities for complex and expensive procedures as all the facilities including the most advanced and most complex procedures are now available at RKCH.

Department of Cardiology at RKCH hosts the largest team of cardiologists in the entire central India region.
